Hi! I'm Morgan

I am passionate about building a meaningful and collaborative relationship with clients - one that supports your goals both in and beyond therapy. I believe people often seek counselling in response to emotional pain, relational challenges, and the impact of oppressive systems. Whatever brings you here, I am grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life, and together, we’ll explore what safety, connection, and growth mean to you.

I am guided by a trauma-informed lens (meaning that your autonomy, agency, and choice are emphasized in our relationship) and am informed by feminist approaches to harm reduction (which means I prioritize care, consent, and dignity over control). I integrate intersectionality and strive to hold space where all parts of your identity feel welcomed and embraced. I believe meaningful change begins with feeling seen and understood so you can expect me to prioritize both our relationship and your inner world throughout our work together.

I work with individuals across the life span, from youth to older adults, and support concerns like anxiety, mood, eating and body image issues, student-related stress, and dementia caregiving. I am committed to social justice and advocacy within my practice and invite conversations around the same. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in community services for over a decade in roles including crisis intervention, health care navigation, support services for adults living with a disability and older adults, and dementia support. My experience in my clinical practicum focused on supporting university-aged students around issues such as identity and career, anxiety, people pleasing and perfectionism, body image concerns, grief, and trauma.

My approach to counselling is integrative and informed by attachment theory and emotions (e.g., EFT), parts work (e.g., IFS), and neuroscience (e.g., polyvagal theory). I will invite a focus on somatic (“bottom-up”) approaches to support healing from the inside out. As we build safety in your nervous system, we may also use tools from CBT or DBT (“top-down” approaches) to support your thinking. My work is rooted in cultural humility and continuous learning, alongside a warm presence, humour, and deep listening.

I practice the “courage to be imperfect” and center self-trust, both in my own counselling and in how I support others. I highly value the confidential and compassionate relationships that are a part of my healing and feel honoured to be able to offer the same. Outside of being a counsellor, I enjoy walking my dog in the forest, exploring new coffee shops, moving my body (biking, skiing, yoga), making cards, and cooking for my family.

Extended Healthcare Plans:

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (awaiting registration September or October 2025!) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. As an RCC, my services are covered by many extended health care plans. If you are a member of an extended health care or benefits plan through your work, school, or through an immediate family member, you may have coverage to help cover the cost of counselling sessions. Please note I do not bill directly to any healthcare providers and payment is due at time of session. Please check with your employer or provider for more information.

Reduced-Cost & Sliding-Scale Options:

In recognition of how systems of oppression (such as racism, ableism, and poverty) can limit access to care, I reserve a limited number of reduced-cost spots for those whose financial health may not afford them to pay for private therapy. If finances are a barrier to working together, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I may be able to offer a reduced rate, low- or no-cost referrals, or free, evidence-based self-help resources.
